Spreaders
Spreaders
Overview
In die casting systems, sprue spreaders (also referred to as runner or constant-area spreaders) are installed within the ejector die to channel molten metal from the sprue bushing, helping distribute it evenly toward the runners and cavities.

Key Features
-
Modular Two-Part Design
Many sprue spreaders consist of a threaded body and a replaceable head (often made of wear-resistant materials like tungsten steel). This allows quick, cost-effective replacement of worn parts without removing the entire spreader. -
Zinc Die Casting Compatibility
These components are specifically designed for zinc die casting—not suitable for aluminum, magnesium, brass, or lead—ensuring optimal function and longevity in compatible systems. -
Cooling-Enhanced Designs
Some sprue and runner spreaders can be configured with baffle or cascade cooling options, improving metal flow control and solidification speed in zinc casting setups. -
High-Durability Materials
Constructed with robust alloys such as H-13 tool steel (hardened to 44–46 HRC), these spreaders are built for high-wear resistance and long service life—even under extreme casting conditions. -
Improved Flow Efficiency
Spreaders help optimize filling dynamics—reducing turbulence, promoting consistent molten metal delivery, and minimizing defects in finished parts.
